The Melbourne Cup, the centerpiece of the Australian racing calendar, has been raced annually at Flemington Racecourse since 1861. This mint mini-sheet of four stamps, issued by Australia on November 1, 2010, celebrates the 150th anniversary of this race. The stamps feature the Melbourne Cup trophy and the following three winners that span the history of the cup: Carbine (1890), Phar Lap (1930), and Saintly (1996). The sheet selvage shows the racetrack during a Cup race.

The actual size of this sheet is 85 x 160 mm (3.35" x 6.30").
